Recently, Dr Aralar had the pleasure of presenting a talk on Diabetic Retinopathy at the Australian Vision Convention.

This was hosted by Optometry Queensland and Northern Territory on the Gold Coast and was a welcome opportunity to share how we approach this problem as an ophthalmologist. The organisers did an amazing job by sandwiching the meeting between the announcement of the COVID leak from the PAH and the lockdown of Brisbane without any disruption to travel plans!

During this talk, Dr Aralar outlined risk factors which may indicate the presence of more advanced diabetic retinopathy and explained our treatment strategy and expected outcomes.

If you are interested, a copy of this talk, along with Dr Michael Hogden’s talk on “Pigmentary Maculopathy” will be available on the website soon.
