Dr Peter Beckingsale attended the meeting in March.

The recent combined Australia and New Zealand Corneal Society (ANZCS) and Eye Bank Association of Australia and New Zealand (EBAANZ) meeting was  held in Perth and he attended in his role as chair of ANZCS and Assistant Medical Director of the Queensland Tissue Bank.

As usual there were interesting presentations and frank discussions on topics including corneal transplantation, collagen cross-linking and the latest advances in bioengineered corneas, as well as ways that Australian Eye Banks can be involved in international aid efforts to alleviate corneal blindness which is estimated to affect more than 10 million people worldwide.

The ANZCS/EBAANZ meeting will be returning to Brisbane in March 2025.
