Dr Warrier is leading a dedicated team of eye care professionals to Sri Lanka to help address the critical shortage of eye care services.

Working alongside local healthcare partners, the team aims to perform up to 500 cataract surgeries in just one week, providing life-changing treatment to patients who may otherwise remain untreated.

The estimated cost of the outreach is $100,000, covering essential surgical equipment and consumables, including intraocular lenses, handpieces and cataract surgery machines. Importantly, much of this equipment will be donated to the local hospital for ongoing use, helping to build longer-term capacity and benefit patients well beyond the outreach week.
