Bree, one of our Medical Receptionists participated in the Ponytail Project in April:

I donated 30cm of my hair for the ponytail project to make a wig for an adult or child suffering from cancer or other medically-induced hair-loss conditions. So far I have raised $3,014 for the cancer council to go towards essential cancer support services, prevention programs, and research.

My brother inspired me to donate my hair after he shaved his hair for the “shave for a cure” foundation a couple years ago. Working alongside an Oncology clinic and watching family friends lose so much because of cancer really made me want help. I was really scared to chop my hair but knowing that it would make someone more confident during their difficult health journey made me happy.
