Dr Guy D’Mellow from the Terrace Eye Centre attended the World Glaucoma Congress in Melbourne this year.
This event is held every two years and is the largest meeting of its kind, this time attracting in excess of 2,000 delegates. The meeting provided a mixture of a scientific progress in the unravelling of glaucoma along with multiple clinical sessions dealing with all aspects from diagnosis to treatment. The parallel symposia that ran over the four days of the program allowed the broadest coverage of glaucoma in all its guises possible.
Congratulations should go to the program committee for organising such a well-run and comprehensive meeting, and I look forward to the next World Glaucoma Meeting which will be held in Japan 2021.
